Community: Celebrating the Individual
The fourth plank of your bridge across the chasm is community: a collection of people each on their own journey of purpose and vision, but connected in spirit around common objectives, needs, values, and beliefs. In many respects, communities are a collection of people of the same or similar psychographic.
Only when the individual is respected and celebrated does the true mastermind of humanity appear. And so this is the mission of the community: Celebrate the individual.
Communities exist because of the human need for connection. They are collections of individuals. Communities thrive when the community celebrates the individual, no matter the magnitude of the events or experiences of their lives.
When the individual members of the community are recognized and celebrated, the community as a whole becomes stronger and of greater value. A sense of cohesiveness turns into a culture of cohesiveness. Loyalty and dedication become a fabric of the community. And the sum of the value of the whole truly becomes greater than the sum of the value of the parts.
Everyone’s Journey Has a Purpose Unique to Them
Your life’s journey is different and unique from anyone else. How you see the world and interpret experiences is processed differently that another person having the same experience. Even though a group of people may experience the same roller coaster ride at an amusement park, their perception, feeling, and emotional experience will be unique and singular to them. And so it is with all the experiences of life.
Then, one day, that dream manifests in impact on the world such as we each define that world. And it all began with a single individual who’s dream was recognized and celebrated.
Celebrating the individual is about tapping into the unique perspectives and interpretations of their journey through the experiences of life – no matter what they are.
People interpret and connect experiences differently. What may seem like totally unrelated ideas and concepts to one may be the unified theory of life for another. Only when the individual is respected and celebrated does the true mastermind of humanity appear. And so this is the mission of the community: Celebrate the individual.
Onward to and Beyond the Frontier of Possibilities
In as much as we are all on our own journey’s to and beyond the frontier of possibilities, it is important to know you aren’t alone. It is not so much that others a physically with you on this journey as it is they are with you in thought and spirit.
In the digital world of the 21st century, communities create cohesiveness and inclusion. Without communities, many would be detached and isolated. What constitutes connection today is different in form than in decades past, yet the need for connection persists. In recognizing and celebrating the individual, the form becomes less important than the feeling.
Our journey’s are more geographic as they are psychographic. Purpose and vision, unique to you, is the push and pull that moves you forward. The journey to purpose and vision begins as a single dream, where it changes, grows, evolves, and takes on meaning. Then, one day, that dream manifests in impact on the world such as we each define that world. And it all began with a single individual who’s dream was recognized and celebrated.
