Fear is one of the most common inhibitors to network marketing success. It stops people before they even get started. It robs them of a lifestyle unmatched. Worst of all, it erodes self confidence and tarnishes one’s self image. Why is fear in network marketing such a prevalent factor? There are many answers to that question, but here are three that cover the majority of cases: Absence or lack of clarity of vision and purpose, absence or lack of knowledge and skills, and absence of action and enthusiasm.

Network marketing is a business, not a hobby. Unlike most entrepreneurial or business ventures, success in network marketing hinges on your ability to deliver value directly to another person. This is where the challenge comes. This is also one of the sources of fear in network marketing. You have to speak to another person about products and opportunity using a person-to-person business model that is not understood by most people. It is important to understand that the lack of understanding of how network marketing works is NOT a limitation, rather it is an opportunity: you have the opportunity to educate, inform, and inspire a lot of people who otherwise would go through life without a clue how network marketing can impact their lives in a profound and positive manner.
While it’s true that people generally buy what they believe will be of value to them, in many cases that “value” is communicated by 3rd party means: for example, advertising. Most business rely on traditional marketing channels to convey their message to the market, so they are in essence at least one level, if not two, detached from the person to whom the value is to be delivered.
In network marketing you are delivering value first person, one-to-one. You don’t manufacture the goods or services, but you’re to portal through which your prospect learns about the products and opportunity. And that is where clarity of vision and purpose come into play in defeating fear.
Clarity of vision of who you are, who you are to become, your value and self worth, and how your purpose, passion, and desire are brought to bear on adding value to the lives of others is paramount in your ability to suppress and defeat fear in network marketing. You must form a solid vision in your mind of who you want to become, and embrace the traits and practices that you must adopt in order to become that person.
Traits and practices are what you put into “practice” each and every day. So if you have that vision of who you desire to become in your network marketing journey, and the traits and practices to go along with it, then each time you approach a new prospect you do it with the vision of the value you bring to them in all aspects of your profession.
You see, this is where being a network marketing professional really hits home. Who you are and will become is your professional trade in stock! The more value you deliver to the market, which in this case is to another person, the less present fear will be in your life. Fear gives way to the quest to add ever greater value.
Overcoming Fear in Network Marketing by Acquiring and Practicing Knowledge and Skills
Network marketing is a profession, and requires considerable knowledge and skill if you are to become a person of value capable of positively impacting the lives of others. Knowledge and skills without action and enthusiasm, however, are merely potential energy in storage, and of no use to anyone.
Acquiring knowledge and skill must be accompanied by action and enthusiasm. Action and enthusiasm are the catalysts of the ingredients of knowledge and skill. When you begin to practice what you know, and focus on getting better and better, fear becomes diluted and eventually disappears. There will no longer be any fear in network marketing, only enthusiasm and action that leads to fun and profit!
Your focus is on become more and better in all aspects of your life. That focus is a positive one, and if done with intensity, consistency, and duration, will overwrite whatever programming you have in your mind that activates a fear response.
As your value increases your only fear will be making sure you allocate enough time each day to add more value to yourself and others!

It’s up to you to drive change into your life to replace fear with vision, purpose, passion, action, and enthusiasm. It’s up to you to recognize that your fear in network marketing is costing you a fortune. You have but on choice: take action now! Complacency is not an option. Fear is not an option.
You have the choice and the power to make your life whatever you want it to be. Believe! Take action! Don’t let fear rob you of a life well lived.
