It's About Freedom
An authentic life is one of your choosing and on your terms. It's a life in which you live your beliefs, values, passions, purpose, and vision without obligation to, reliance upon, or fear of institutions of society.
In an authentic life, you have options and choices to make the world a better place, however you define the world.
You are able to create rich experiences for the people you care about so they may live more fully.
Each day you answer the three questions of life, in the affirmative, instead of in the past tense in your final moments of life. Those questions being: Am I living wisely? Am I loving well? Am I serving greatly?
This is the authentic life.
We are created to live an authentic life. It is the natural expression and state of the individual. Only when we all lead authentic lives can we truly have freedom.
Not everyone has the same definition of what constitutes an authentic life. It is defined by our own personal state of being and what we hold to be of value in our lives.
An authentic life is not an entitlement. It is a right. There is a difference! An entitlement demands you be given something, whereas a right presents you with the option to acquire that thing to which you have a right through your own personal effort. That is what makes the world great, diverse, and free.
Creating an authentic life comes down to five basic elements:
1. Your Code of Life and Living, at the core of which is purpose and vision, and your plan.
2. A platform by which to acquire that which you seek. For example, a business or vocation.
3. Education. You acquire the knowledge and skill necessary to become the person worthy, deserving, and capable of creating your desired authentic life.
4. Community, where you celebrate the journey of others, as well as your own. A community is a form of a master mind.
5. Culture, which is about the identity you hold for yourself, that which you identify with, and that which you identify as. It is a about what you believe and what you value not only in your personal life but in the associations you have with others.
These five basic elements are the foundation of creating your authentic life. Of course, action is necessary. That is all part of your Code of Life and Living.
Who You Become is Where the Riches Are
It takes effort, focus, sustained thought and action, and profound gratitude to undertake and sustain the journey to your authentic life. Some fall by the wayside on their journey, falling prey to fear, doubt, and uncertainty. Why? Usually because they did not have a Code of Life and Living to guide them along the way.
It's who become along the way that truly matters. Your authentic life is of your creation, and creating "you" is how that life is made. The joy is in the becoming!
The true riches in life are those you become, for they can never be taken away and are always compounding to great value!
